Once you get the hang of the rules, which won't take long, a typical adventure takes about 1~1.5 hours to run through. There is no dungeon master, all the monsters are controlled by the player that spawned them, and have their AI printed out on the cards. For the money, there's an awful lot that comes in the box. It's definitely a great way to introduce kids to D&D, and its also very easy to create custom content for.
